Be Strong and Courageous

This hangs in my truck as a reminder to me: “Be strong and courageous” Joshua 1:9

As moms, we are ALWAYS expected to be strong and courageous. It’s tiring. Sometimes (MOST times) I don’t want to be strong or courageous. I want to be vulnerable and close the bedroom door & curl up in a ball and cry and scream in a pillow and have an epic toddler tantrum. WHY IS ADULTING SO HARRRRRRDD?!? Why is PARENTING so hard????!!!

God did not tell us this life road would be easy. He warned us of the difficulties of simply living. BUT, He DID teach us how to prepare for the inconsistencies and disappointments and terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days. He knows what we will be facing and the battles we will be fighting, and He loves us enough to give us the armor to fight back!! We cannot be defeated, even when we feel like we are. God created us to be strong and courageous IN HIM, not on our own! Those days when we feel like the world chews us up and spits us out, we must remember to not rely on our own strength and courage because it’s not enough. Be strong and courageous IN CHRIST; only with Him carrying the yoke with us are we able to keep from drowning in our unstable human emotions.
